Bettina Cafe and Market

I’m on a business trip with a long weekend before another busy workday. I wasn’t expecting much from a quiet dinner out, but Bettina Cafe and Market in Phoenicia surprised me in the best possible way. I ordered the salmon and gnocchi, and I have to say, this was one of the most delightful meals I’ve had in a long time. The gnocchi was perfectly textured, flavorful, and so well-made that it didn’t even need a sauce to shine. It’s rare to find gnocchi that truly stands out, and Bettina’s nailed it. The salmon… I’m very particular when it comes to salmon, but this one was exceptional. Cooked perfectly, tender, and so full of flavor. Simply delicious. And to finish - since I eat gluten-free, the team at Bettina went above and beyond to create a beautiful dessert plate of fresh fruits. Paired with a perfect espresso, it was the ideal end to an amazing meal. Thank you, Bettina, for making my dinner, and my visit to beautiful Phoenicia, such a pleasure!

Lovely, warm and comfy cafe, with a country store feel. A perfect stopping place on along route 28. Stopped in for Saturday brunch — our first time there. While the menu had a variety of breakfast dishes, I was surprised not to see a basic breakfast dish like bacon & eggs. It was only after I had ordered that I realized they had a separate “side orders” menu where you could piece together something like that à la carte, but it was way on the far side of the lunch menu. I had even asked the staff member who took my order if the egg sandwich and egg taco skillet were the only egg dishes, and she said “yes.” A number of other staff let-downs added up to a frustrating first visit: delivering my pot of tea to the table with no mug, forgetting to put the salsa on the taco skillet, never bringing us the cinnamon roll we ordered. And it was not busy! Despite these frustrations, it’s a nice place with a friendly, comfortable vibe. I will give them a second try, but things have to go much better next time, otherwise I doubt I’d bother returning a third time.

An oasis in Phoenicia! I just had my first meal at Bettina. I ordered three sides: bacon, eggs, and french fries. The food was served hot. The bacon was very flavorful, the eggs were scrambled as requested, and the French fries, while not hand-cut, were very good. The coffee was dark roasted and strong, just as I like it. The service was excellent, true teamwork. Very peaceful, pleasing environment. I look forward to returning.

Cute little coffee shop around the corner from the rail trail. Coffee was good, but it wasn't very busy at all and it took a long time for three of us to get coffee to go. I would come back though and give it another try by dining in one day.

We had dinner last night. The server Jesse was very fast and efficient and very friendly and gave us great recommendations on food choices! The dining room area is very cozy and welcoming. Each table had a simple and elegant base of flowers. The presentation of each food plate was impeccable!! The mezze plate was delicious! The tomato jam and whipped feta and hummus were delicious! The bread served with butter was very good. The entrees we ordered Ahi tuna over jasmine rice and the linguine with shrimp were both very flavourful . The flourless chocolate torre was amazing . The coffee is always very good, breakfast, lunch or dinner!! The quality fo food is very good and prices are reasonably! We regularly go to this great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner !!

Rarely do I rave about a sandwich. I ordered a hummus on a pita with sprouts and pickled, yet sweet, vegetables. It came with a side of greens and unreal house made chips. May I say, seriously the best Sammie I’ve had in years. My companion did the breakfast taco bowl and was equally enchanted. Service was attentive and friendly. Our iced matcha lattes were great. I brought home a few bakery items and those were also excellent. Highly recommended!

We have had a vacation home in the area for more than a decade and we were excited when Bettina opened. The coffee is DELICIOUS, so much so that I bought a bag of whole beans to take home. The breakfasts are delicious as are the baked goods. Also really like the ambiance. I have been several times now to meet friends for breakfast. The word on the street is the dinners are also fantastic.

The pancakes with berry and lavender compote were absolutely amazing. The cortada was a great coffee too. Best place around for brunch or lunch! It was cozy and the people were friendly.
